Support the Gunn Family! Minimize

A Faith Supported Ministry

Awana Missionaries are fully faith supported. We rely on God to faithfully provide the necessary finances for our ministry and living expenses. This funding comes from churches and individuals who share our vision and support us as prayer and financial partners. Such support enables us to assist the local church in reaching kids and building bridges to their homes.

Checks to support our ministry should be made payable to Awana Clubs International. Important! Note on the memo portion "Gunn #334".

Dear Pastors and Awana Leaders,

I hope and pray everyone is having a great week. I know many of you are elbow deep in VBS. If you are interested, I have an incentive for children visiting your church for the first time to come back and be a part of your Awana ministry. It's called, Awana VBS bucks. To use these bucks you can choose a variety of incentives such as bringing a friend, memorizing verses or just for being a part of VBS. Then, explain to each child that they can redeem the Awana VBS bucks at the first night of Awana for candy, prizes or school supplies. I hope this will be helpful and thank you for all you do for the Kingdom of God. God bless you and your ministry. Please email me and I will be glad to send you the attachment.

Training Tips for your Church
Check out our new Hitting The Mark (HTM) training. Churches can use the HTM Getting Started training found on ART and do a mock training at your church with leaders during the summer. For more info, please contact or email me and I will be glad to get you started.

Recruiting Tips
• A personal invitation is the most effective recruiting method. Get to know parents, seniors and singles at your church and invite them to serve in Awana. Use the recruitment cards on the You Belong Web page as a handout and reminder to potential volunteers.

• Encourage all your leaders to be on the lookout for potential volunteers throughout the year. Recruiting volunteers isn’t just the job of Awana commanders and directors. Encourage them to use the resources available on the You Belong Web page to help spread the word.

• Connect with other ministries in your church. If your church has a singles, adult or senior group, ask to speak briefly at one of their meetings. A few ideas when sharing:

Funny
“Who can ever forget Winston Churchill’s immortal words: "We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills." It sounds exactly like our family vacation.” (Robert Orben)

Words To Grow On
Billy Graham tells the story about a little child the was playing with a very valuable vase. He put his hand into it and could not withdraw it. His father too, tried his best to get it out, to no avail. They were thinking of breaking the vase when the father said, “Now my son, make one more try. Open your hand and hold your fingers out straight as you see me doing, and then pull.” To their astonishment the little fellow said, “O no, dad, I couldn’t put my fingers out like that because if I did I would drop my dime.”

Smile, if you will but thousands of us are like that little boy, so busy holding on to the world’s worthless dimes that we cannot accept liberation. Drop the trifles in your life. Surrender! Let go, and let God have His way in your life.
