Commander College 101 and Commander College 201 will be offered March 11-13, 2010 at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth. This is an incredible training event for all Awana Commanders. It will teach, encourage and renew your passion to reach children and youth for Christ. Commanders who attended our first Commander College in February were incredibly excited about all they heard and learned. Plan now Commanders to attend. Watch this site for more details, but mark the dates on your calendar. Contact Southwestern Seminary for your housing.

Commander College 101 will be offered at Houston Baptist University, 7502 Fonderan Road, Houston, TX on March 25-27, 2010. If you need housing we suggest Crowne Plaza Hotel, 9090 Southwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77074 (713-995-0123) They are offering a special rate of $89. per night for a King Suite or a double queen bed suite.

The registration for all Commander Colleges in Texas will be $325.00 for early registration. The registration includes the class, class materials, and meals. It does not include housing if housing is needed. The college class will begin on Thursday morning with registration at 8:00 AM and will conclude on Saturday with graduation and lunch.

NOTE: Commanders that bring at least 70% of their leaders to the Awana Fall Ministry Conference will receive a $100. credit to attend Commander College. You will also recieve the Approved Leaders Award. Start now talking to your leaders and get them to plan on attending the Fall Conference, October 3rd. at First Baptist Church, Universal City.

Spring events are upon us!  Get ready for fun and fellowship with other Awana Clubs in your area.  The Quiz and Games Rules for South Central Texas have been added to the web page (finally) for download.  Please take some time to look them over and get familiar with the new rules this year.  We will discuss the changes at the Coaches Meetings in Austin (january 9th) and San Antonio (January 23rd).  Locations and times for the meetings  are on the left side of the web page under the Calendar.  Just click on the event and it will open up with more information.

Check out the Bible Quiz and Games videos at www.awanatexas.org.  They are a blast from the past!  Go to the yellow banner across the top and under Outreach click on either Quiz or Games.  Much appreciation to Taylor Lassiter (Outreach Missionary up in North Texas) for finding and posting them.

We are excited about another round of events now that we are the "official" Awana Missionaries for South Central Texas.  We want to encourage you to come to the Coaches Meeting if you can to learn more about the Quiz and Games.  If you only have a few Clubbers that would like to participatein the events, you can still bring them.  We will make sure and plug them in with another church so they can play.  We can also put you in contact with another church that needs players.  You can still have your Club involved in events even if you can't field a whole team.
