*At BT EXTREME, club roles are taugh seperately to provide a more in-depth training. At a Regular BT, all K-6th grade leaders are taught together in one general session.

All leaders need to bring their specific Awana Role Book. This replaces many of the old handouts. We will have a few "loaner" role books available, but PLEASE bring your Role Book to Basic Training. If you do not have a Role Book, please order one from www.awana.org.

(Note: Please check to see if you have the latest edition of the Role Books. Game Directors and T&T were updated in 2010-2011, and Commanders and Secretaries were updated in 2011-2012).

There will be Lunch served at most locations. Sorry, no childcare provided.

Please note that there is a registration deadline!

Trainings will only be held if there are enough registrations received for that location and for that age group and could be cancelled. We will notify you if this happens and give you the option to attend another location or receive a refund.

Sorry, but no refunds given unless training is cancelled due to low turnout. However, funds can be transferred to other training events.

What is the difference between Awana Ministry Conference and Basic Training?
Basic Training is sounds exactly like the title--Basic Training. This training covers the "fundamentals" of how to run a successful Awana Club. Leaders will learn all the requirements of an Awana Leader, all aspects of the club night (Opening Ceremony, Game Time, Handbook Time, Large Group Time, and Closing), and club discipline.

Awana Ministry Conference is an annual event where Basic Training is offered, as well as many other workshops and a challenging keynote speaker. For many leaders, this is the highlight of their club year!

The Texas Awana Missionaries encourage you to make Awana Ministry Conference an annual event for all your leaders--if you have to pick one thing to attend, this is it! The Texas Missionaries encourage all new leaders to attend Basic Training as they begin to serve as Awana leaders, then about once every three years (especially Commanders and Directors) to stay fresh with club fundamentals.
