Missionaries Note: Please notice that Fowler Middle School is not located in Denton, but elsewhere in the DFW area. Due to scheduling difficulties, we were unable to find a facility for Volleyball in a nearby school district. This is the closest available facility we were able to find that was available on Jan. 27th. We know that several traveling teams will need to plan carefully for lodging, and it will be crucial to finish the Volleyball tournament on time to allow teams proper rest for the Saturday competitions. The good news is that we have four Volleyball courts for our use this year so the tournament should end much earlier than last year. We know that it is important for teams to get a good night's sleep before the next day! We appreciate your patience and prayers through the scheduling difficulties, and are thankful for your understanding. We're looking forward to a great event!

FAQ's
1. What is this event?
It's the third annual Texas Trek/Journey State Championships! Trek and Journey students from across the state will come to the DFW area for a weekend of Volleyball, Bible Quiz, and AwanaGames. Last year's event featured 26 churches and over 500 people, and we are looking forward to an even larger event this year!
2. What is the cost?
Registration costs are as follows:
$20 Participant fee (required for all participants and coaches). Includes Friday night pizza, Saturday lunch, and event t-shirt.
$30 Per Bible Quiz team (2-5 participants)
$90 Per AwanaGames Team (10-14 participants)
$40 Per Volleyball Team (6 participants)
No cost for Wild and Wacky Games, but you must register.
3. Are we required to pay the $20 participant fee, even if we only want to participate in one event?
Yes. Participants and coaches are required to pay this fee. However, we think $20 is a pretty good deal for Friday dinner, T-Shirt, and Saturday lunch!
Spectators are highly encouraged to pay the participant fee, though not required. We will NOT allow purchase of food at the event, so make sure to sign up beforehand! We do hope to sell event t-shirts, but we will have a limited supply.
4. All the rules listed are for Summit. Are there different rules for Trek?
Since both Trek and Journey will be competing at the same time at the same location, we will be using one set of rules for the event. The rules are the same as the Summit 2011 rules, and will be used for both Trek and Journey. Please see "2012 Rules and Eligibility Clarifications" for more information.
5. Where is a good place to stay? Can you recommend a hotel?
Due to missionary requirements, we are not allowed to post possible hotel locations or suggestions for housing. Where you stay is entirely up to your own group, and will not be coordinated by the missionaries.
6. When is registration due?
Registration is due at MIDNIGHT, JANUARY 18, 2012! Get your information in as soon as you can!
7. I'm interested in doing a Fine Arts Presentation in preparation for Summit. Will Fine Arts be offered?
We are trying to find a way to fit Fine Arts into the schedule, but as of right now we probably will not offer Fine Arts. If something does develop, it will most likely be a non-competitive practice time on Friday night during the Volleyball competition.
If you are interested in volunteering to help coordinate a Fine Arts portion of the event, please contact Taylor Lassiter or Doug Rolando.
8. What are the facilities like?
Saturday's event will be held at Denton Bible Church, 2300 E University Drive, Denton, TX. Trek AwanaGames will be held concurrently with Journey Bible Quiz, then vice versa in the afternoon. AwanaGames will be held on a carpet floor.
9. What is the Citation Recognition?
At the conclusion of Bible Quizzing, we will have a special recognition for all our Citation Acheivers before the lunch break. Details are TBD, but it's something you won't want your Citation Acheivers to miss out on! Stay posted for more information.
