Good Afternoon Raine,
Awana has had a tremendous year. We switched to Wednesday nights a couple of years back and have had consistent growth. We are averaging about 45 clubbers and about 26 volunteers each week. For us, that is huge! If all the kids that have come through our doors this year came at one time we would be overflowing! It amazes me each week that these kiddos choose to come to church. The majority are from the neighborhood surrounding the church.
Our leaders are fabulous! We have a phenominal group of T & T leaders that share the gospel each week! Our Spark leaders have been teaching since we started Awana in the church. I don't even mess with them. They have it all down pat! In Cubbies we have a sweet young lady that has jumped in with both feet! We have an average of about 10 Cubbies each week. I was a substitute one week in there and I can guarantee you that 10 seemed like 20! :)
Game Time is our weak spot. I have never had a consistent Game Director. We now have a wonderful youth that has stepped up to the plate each week and provides games. We do not do the Awana games. I am hoping to get him to a training and see how it goes.
God has been more than good to us! He has blessed us with clubbers and leaders! Just last week I was able to lead a sweet 10 year old boy to Christ. He is a member of our church and has been delt cards most 10 years should not have to deal with. He has had anger issues in the past where we have to pull him aside and calm down. But Raine, I tell you, that child had the most angelic look on his face when he accepted Christ into his heart. I have never seen a smile so sweet on his face. It makes all the crazy and hectic Awana nights worth every minute!
Have a great evening!
Kristi

Cuba Trip
God has presented another great opportunity for me to return to Cuba with our church. The dates are: August 6th thru 13th. Taking the gospel message to Cuba is an exciting ministry experience. I have been blessed to minister in Cuba twice since 2010.
The blessing is from helping train a new missionary who has in turn helped 14 churches start Awana. I am looking forward to going back and need to raise $2,000.00 to finance the trip.
God has put a burden on my heart for the people of Cuba. Will you help make this trip possible?
Ministry happens because of your prayer and financial gifts.

Support
Our God does not need us to accomplish His will. He is perfectly capable of doing anything and everything. He allows us to participate for our benefit, not His. This is no different from your Dad letting you help him “fix” the car or your Mom allowing you to help her “cook”. They did not need our help, but in order to build our character and form a stronger bond, they wanted us to be with them.
When we give we are trusting Christ to do the multiplying. Could Jesus have fed the multitude without the fishes and the loaves? Of course He could have! He was testing their faith. It was not about who could give enough food to feed everyone, it was not about who had enough money to buy the food, in fact it was not about giving at all. It was about who to trust. We are not to rely on ourselves to accomplish God’s plan, we are to
rely on Him.
Just like the widow with the two mites, she gave and God fulfilled His promise. If you can give much, then by all means do it, but if you can only
give a little, please do not hold it back. Give the little bit that you have to Him and He will do the multiplying.
Awana missionaries are 100% faith supported and we depend entirely on donations to cover all our expenses, including salary. Your support will help expand and enhance the influence and impact of Awana to reach and disciple children and youth. It will help provide us with the needed resources to empower the local church to be a vital force in communities across Texas.
